Pastor Dunn- New Covenant Church

We just completed Summer Camp 1 last week . This was the best christian camp that our youth have ever attended. What a difference all of you have made in the lives of our 21 kids. Thank you to every member of your staff.

Camp Counselor

I found Megan hiding in a hole covered with leaves back in the woods. She was crying, shaking and pretty much totally freaked out. She was scared and had tons of anxiety welling up in her. Well, we talked for about 45 mins, we walked, we prayed…. she breathed… and then she went to the very top of the vertical playground twice!!! AHH! It was so amazing. That day the Lord helped her face her biggest fear. After that day, all of the girl opened up to me and we were all able to address some deep issues in their lives. The Lord worked mightily that week in their lives. They left changed. And I know that that day at the rope course broke down huge walls. Praise the Lord.

Camp Counselor

“She loved summer camp! She already wants to know dates for next summer. She is also really interested in the Honor Academy. She is growing in the Lord and is very hungry. Great to see and now hear that she wants to be more like Christ”

Jessica (camper)

“I learned a lot this week about God! I learned that God has a plan for each and everyone of us!! Also God wants every man, woman, and child to know and fellowship him on earth. I learned that when you listen to secular music, it destroys your spirit and that your spirit is going to die if you keep listening to it!!! What I’m going to do about that is I’m going to listen to more Christian music and yea. I also learned that I need to forgive people 7 times 70!! Something else I learned was to be R.A.W. which means I’m am ready and willing to serve the Lord!!! Something that meant a lot to me and was one of my favorite was when Phil Chalmers came and talked to us about our music that we listen to because if he wouldn’t have come I wouldn’t have known that my spirit was dying!!! I also liked the session about the ultimate treasure map is the Bible and that’s the only way you can get to the real treasure which is Jesus!!!”

Stacy

I really didn’t want to go to summer  camp this year. I was going to be one of the oldest people from my church going and I wasn’t excited about being with young girls… But I came, and the first night I really did feel like God was speaking to me… I knew I was supposed to be at summer camp and God was trying to tell me something.

Leah

I didn’t just rededicate my life because I thought I had done this before, but I truly gave my all over to the Lord… All I know is I’ve never been as close to God as I am now and I trust in Him whole-heartedly. Now, all I have to do is listen to His answer to my everyday prayer

Aurora

This week at summer camp, I’ve received encouragement to pursue Jesus and spend time with Him as I start college with a busy schedule. My senior year at hight school started out awesome – long story short, I got busy and put my relationship with God on hold, consumed with grades, scholarships, and extracurricular activities. I started dating this guy, and compromise started happening. I had wanted to come to camp, but “couldn’t” because I had just started my summer job…I knew I needed to get away from the influences to hear God in an audible voice. I text my youth pastor asking if there was a spot open for camp, and someone had just backed out of coming – so I came. I feel a passion that I haven’t felt in so long, and though it is only a season, it is only the beginning. I wonder what’s next.

Jonathan

The Lord has shown me this week that I need to spend more time pursuing the Lord and trying to become one with Him. To give up all the bad influences and avoid situations that might lead me to sin. This week I have found that the more work I know the better I feel and closer to God. The more work I know the greater my faith becomes. The Lord has also introduced me to a great number of good people. From the fellow campers to all the counselors, they all are good godly people. The greatest thing this camp has shown me is that I can still do more for the Lord and for my friends. I haven’t done everything I can do to help some of my friends. How I feel that I have the boldness and strengthened faith to ask them about Jesus. -Jonathan, 18 (Houston)

Summer camp activities extremified

Extreme camps isn’t your typical christian summer camp. We like to think we take it to the edge in our activities, our worship, and in our personal relationships with Jesus Christ.

We are always on the hunt for new activities to keep it there. We have considered sky diving, ATV 4 wheeling , go carts, and Jet-skiing. Anything is possible, so let us know in a comment below or vote in a poll I put on our facebook page this morning. Don’t forget to “like” while your there to show your favorite extreme camps some love.

Oh, and let us know if we missed something. What extreme thing would you like to see added? Let us know in a comment below.
