A Man after God’s own Heart

When you think of an amazing worship leader that pursues the Lord, who do you think of?

There was a man that even though he killed a man, committed adultery, and has a whole list of sins that people can lay out, was known as a man after God’s own heart. He was one that would run to the Lord and lead his people into God’s presence. He did not care who was looking at him while he worshiped. The Bible says that he danced shamelessly (2 Samuel 6:10-14).

Have you guessed who I am talking about yet?

If you guessed David, then you’re correct!

This man was a phenomenal worship leader. He understood the weight of leading the people and dealt with the consequences of his actions. Yet, he pursued the Lord with everything he had and through that, the people saw his pursuit and were encouraged to follow him.

Come join us this summer at camp for Extreme Camps School of Worship Track to learn more about what the lifestyle of a worship leader looks like and how we are all called to be worship leaders. Yes, all of us are called! You don’t have to play an instrument or sing to be a worship leader, as long as you worship; you are a worship leader because you carry the presence of God like the Levites in the Old Testament. Check out our other tracks that can take the gifts that the Lord has given you and develop them this summer at our bible camp!

Challenge:

Read through some of the Psalms and see some of David’s songs to the Lord and try to put music to the words that David has written or even use your own words of praise to the Lord to write the song.

Summer Camp Theme: Immersed

Teen Mania’s Texas Christian Camp, is setting up for this summer camp

THE THEME: IMMERSED.

“Have you entered into the springs of the sea, or walked in the recesses of the deep?” Job 18:16

For summer camp this year in Texas we are focusing on being immersed in God. The worship, the games,
the speakers, quiet times, and fun will all be focused on this.

When you immerse something what happens to it? It is completely surrounded and covered and
that’s exactly what we want to do.

We will have Christian Bands who will rock, rap, and possibly even share part of their personal
testimony. We grab the most talented artists we can find including Tedashii and some of our own
School of Worship artists.

Then incredible speakers will pour out their hearts by sharing a message applicable to your
youth. Speaker John Gray makes you laugh, cry and then think. And Pastor Wally focuses on the
persecuted church and the joy Christ gave him even in the times where tears were plentiful.

And then there’s the Extreme games… and entirely different animal the any other summer camp games
you’ve been a part of. We take you normal, dull, and boring sports and extreme-i-fy them…
volleyball with a 3 ft. diameter ball and some special touches. Human Foosball, where you get to
test your wit and speed with teamwork to get the perfect combination and send the ball into the
opponents goal. Zip-Lines and Rock Climbing walls as well as paintball add to the experience and
all of our events help teach students about teamwork, and braving their fears, while experiencing
some adrenaline.

Summer Camp Counselors

When it comes to camps We The People believe in providing an experience you’ll never forget. We like to say “Extreme Camps, the reason school lets out for summer.” We also know that there are few Texas Christian Camp experiences out there that provide a unique week long experience for an affordable price. So, who are the workers at Extreme Camps? How do you find young adults who can be trusted to spiritually guide and invest in youths’ lives?

The answer lies in part with our Campus is already a part of Teen Mania Ministries. This charges
the atmosphere for our interns have been growing spiritually for months so they can provoke their
generation to know Christ intimately and to take his Gospel message to the ends of the earth.

Since they’ve been here for at least 5 months we, the management staff, have had a chance to watch
them grow spiritually. We interview our summer staffing and train them in safety, and spiritual
leadership so they are prepared for the adventure to come.

These young adults love being counselors and are filled up, ready to pour out into youths lives. It’s not
uncommon to see counselors speaking to their camper groups, praying together, and then listening to
each camper. By the end of the week their almost sure to have formed a camaraderie that will have
them speaking with each other via facebook. We encourage our staff and counselors to personally
invest in each individual so it’s not surprising that there are friendships of camp alumni that have lasted
many years beyond the time of their childhood.

Bible Camp

Extreme Camps is a Bible camp. While most summer camps are focused primarily on the fun activities we are focused on what God has laid out for us in the Bible.

We are both a adventure and Bible camp, but if we had to take one over the other we would be a Bible camp.

Don’t get us wrong. We LOVE  our adventure filled rope climbing, paintball playing, water sliding, rock concerting fun filled times too, but all these things are meaningless without God. We are good at adventure, but our real bread and butter is setting the stage for God to transform teens lives as a Bible camp.

This year teens will get immersed in the bible to see what God says about Himself and His love for them. Every year our summer camp has a different theme to make things relevant and easier to understand and every year we unpack more of what God says in His Word.

Thus, a Bible camp.

Extreme Camps Extreme Paintball

Join us for our ultimate paintball tournament at Extreme Camps

Do you like adrenaline? Battle tactics seem to be your hobby? You’ve got a thirst for Adventure? And
to spice it up… do you need that to sense the excitement of the battlefield?

The Operations Team for Extreme Camps is re-working our three paintball courses so they will be ready
for this summer. If you’ve paintball-ed on our campus before you know that we always bring the fun
and the price for additional paintball is insanely affordable. The improvements we plan to make on our
courses this year include.

To give you taste of the battlefield and it’s glory we’ve included what we think you’d write if you could
take the time to journal throughout a paintball match.

Excerpt from a paintball battle field log:

“We lost Johnny and Michael on the left side. They’ve flanked us and now we’re completely surrounded.
Me and Tibbetts are sitting here in the castle and we’ve got nowhere to hide… but the battle is at a
standstill. The pansies outside have us outnumbered four to one but they don’t have the heart to run in
here and take us. So… we’ve been picking them off when they show their heads. Slowly, the numbers
have been turning… Got one! He should’ve been more observant of the corner of his right leg sticking
out in the open.

Time has passed:

“Me and Tibbetts are still holding out… we had a scare just a moment ago when I got hit but the paint
didn’t break. The enemy is still hiding behind those protective bunker walls, but they’re too far away
for their paintballs to actually break on us. This has given us courage. The numbers are us 2 vs. their 6,
we’ve been waiting for them to move but they haven’t so… it’s time we take this attack to the offensive.

After a heated debate with Tibbetts we remember that we’ve only got 3 minutes left on the clock, the
round is going to end soon and the other team probably is just fine with that. They’re only taking odd
shots now and then to make sure we don’t get too anxious and think about leaving our protective castle.

So, we’re going to go out in style… Tactically we sneak outside and before they know it I’ve got one
of them surrendered and Tibbetts has picked off two of them from behind. In one last ditch effort the
enemy realizes that they’ve lost and they to run… easy picking’s. Pop pop pop…. The horn blares and
the game is over. Victory achieved. Now… time to load up with more paint and prepare for our next
mission.”

Extreme Worship

Teen Mania’s Extreme Camps has had the School of Worship Track. This has been an opportunity for the youth that come to Extreme Camps to be trained as worship leaders and musicians.

This year we are taking it to a new Extreme! Check out what we will be offering….

Do you play an instrument or sing? Do you like running lights, sound, and the production side of the music industry?

Come join us for the opportunity of a life time and be trained by Teen Mania’s School of Worship! Take Instrument lessons for your specific instrument and sharpen your skills in production with members and
leaders within the School of Worship training you.

During this week you will also have the opportunity to meet Guest Artist that will be playing for Extreme Camps and ask them the questions that have been on your mind. If you are a part of the production track then you will have the opportunity to sit in on their sound checks.

Throughout the week we will equip you to take what you have learned and implement it into your youth group, church, and community. This is a week that will impact the way you worship for the rest of your life.
